After watching one of the WatchCrunch founders short video review of this little Seiko desktop clock I just couldn't resist picking one up.
Sure it's just a plastic clock and somewhat of a novelty to be honest, but it costs about the same as a decent strap, but I think they look cool and apparently so do a lot of other watch nerds here in Australia. I managed to grab the very last one.
I have an old Seiko fold up travel alarm clock from the 70's that was my fathers, but that's a keep sake and doesn't get used, sentimental value.
So do many of you collect these types of clocks or grandfather clocks, mantel piece clocks?
Whether you wear a time piece or there around your house all watches and clocks interest me. I'd love to get my hands on a old antique mantel piece clock to restore, a Napoleon Hat style I believe their called.

Definitely cool - I picked up the same one. It looks the most stealth and least plastic of the bunch. Good choice!
Yeah I wasn't to fussed on the SKX looking one, it looked more plasticky if there's such a word 😂
Both have great taste then 👍
I like this also.
I've almost hit buy on a Carriage Clock a few times now. I think they look really cool and would be awesome on my book shelf.
Plastic? at least its not on velcro and selling 10 times over msrp.
From my understanding it is all plastic, this was according to Max one of the WatchCrunch creators. 👍
Not sure about the desk clock but I would 100% have one of these 😍
I’ve ordered one too after watching that review and finding a UK seller. I went for the same one in the review - I was tempted by the blue but that did look too plasticky with a chrome colour body but at the end of the day, they are small plastic clocks that have a novelty factor…..it ain’t going to get any wrist time is it 🙄
I have a Seiko mantel clock. Was given it as a present and am really pleased with it. I think the fact it’s a Seiko is more luck than judgement 😂 It’s battery operated so only has the old fashion looks and not the workings.
This was a new addition to my office yesterday…a Hamilton mantle clock:
This clock has been in my family forever (or at least for the last 35+ years when my grandfather won it as a prize when he worked for GE). Until a few weeks ago, it resided at my grandparents summer house on the Long Island Sound in Connecticut, but they’re selling the place, and I asked to keep the clock as it reminds me of them and my childhood summers in that house. They were happy to oblige, and I was happy to give it a new home.
It’s got an electronic movement inside, powered by a D battery. The seconds hand moves along in a nice elegant sweep.
What a sweet looking Hamilton clock mate and it looks to be great shape for it's age as well. 💯
Excellent family memento and something of a conversation starter when family and friends come over, also something to hand down to the next chapter of you're families history.
I think being a quartz movement is somewhat of a bonus, I've had mantel clocks and forgetting to wind them can be a pain in the arse, then if you miss place the key, well your up shit creek so to speak 🤣
Nice one and thanks for sharing buddy 🙏
OMG! I didn't know this subject already exists! I just posted my purchase. Hahahahaha

Yeah I just checked out your post, there cool little clocks.
Mine has the same hazey look about it when you use the light, the glass/ plastic looks all crazed or cracked on the inside.
I actually thought it may be some sort of plastic coating or film they'd left on the glass, but I don't want to pull it apart just yet to find out.
I got an Invicta one that was on sale. Keeps perfect time with a smooth sweeping quartz. Not 4 feet from it is a neat little digital clock that I like. My wife asks me exactly how many ways do I need to keep the time. To which I respond "have you seen how many watches I own?" 🤣🤣
