Made a visit to Watches of Switzerland yesterday
Made a visit to Watches of Switzerland at Hudson Yards in NYC yesterday. First let me say the place was beautiful. As someone who never walked into a luxury watch store because I never had an intention to buy and to be honest I was always a little intimidated because I felt I didn't belong. When I went to walk in there is a security guard who said we have to get a sales associate assigned to you, and I was like no I just want to look, he said I'm sorry we have to get someone. The guy they assigned to me could not be any nicer, I even showed him my Timex Hypebeast on my wrist and he thought it was so cool. He asked me what I would like to look at even though I told him I'm not here to buy today, he said no problem, take a look and try on anything you like. I went to the Grand Seiko section and was blown away. I now know my next watch. The Grand Seiko Hi Beat in was amazing. The quality and second hand sweep was something I never experienced, almost magical. I was not allowed to take pictures, but I was very impressed how welcoming they were and not snooty at all. For those who don't know Hudson Yards in New York, it's an ultra exclusive mall for rich folks, so I was pleasantly surprised how nice they treated the Timex Badger.

My local AD is a Watches of Switzerland in the Mall of America. There is a security guard but you are free to roam around looking to your hearts content without a sales person. I've had the same experience that the sales people are more than happy to let you try on watches even if they know you aren't buying that day. The fact they treated me nicely my first couple visits of just looking is the reason all my watches are purchased there. Its a great place

My 2 local WoS stores in London have always been good to me. Spoken to several different members of staff and they were great.

I went to the GS AD in Boston on Saturday. Beautiful stuff... Even my watch-skeptic wife liked the SBGM221 GMT.
Wife: "are you going to get that, it doesn't seem like too much $?".
Stupid me: "nope, crown's in the wrong place".

Yes - the folks at Watches of Switzerland over at Hudson Yards are very cool. They have a really great selection of watches - great place to visit if you want to see what a watch looks like on your wrist.
Also, don't miss out on the Bucherer TimeMachine on 57th Street. They have three floors of watches - the lower level has the more affordable watches. The folks at the store are really helpful.

I’ve also had a great sales experience at WoS. Went a few months ago to browse like you and I also ended up enamored by GS in person. I had also never seen the Hi Beat or Spring Drive in person and I couldn’t look away.
