Least Worn of 2023?

Everyone talks about their well-loved, most worn pieces. What about the watches with the least wrist time? What kept them in your watch box, drawer, or off the cuff?

Image

For me, it was the Sturmanskie Gagarin. I love the backstory, warm colors, and small seconds. I just didn't have many occasions for which it would be suited. I mostly need rugged tool watches, so it spent most of its time sadly tucked away.

This. L.E. f-ing D. 🤣

Axis Dual Time - because it's just too big for my wrist at 44mm diameter and 51.6mm LTL.

Image

Citizen 1030-R11008 - because it's a dress watch for special occasions, which doesn't happen often in a year.

My gshock, since I only wear it on hikes

I like it! This one's been on my Amazon wish list for some time. I keep finding other watches, though.

Both are really nice, but I can relate. My dress watches are my least worn for the same reason. I prefer your Citizen tank to the Seiko tanks. The black and gilt is all class.

·

Zelos Swordfish Ti. Got it in a trade, hate it - tried to sell it but can't shift it so going to gift it to a good friend. Awful thing ! 🤢

The Citizen tank is vintage, and is an heirloom from my Dad. He definitely was a simple and humble man, but knew how to be classy. Indeed, the black and gilt exude it. Image

Love the Sturmanskie. I have two watch mods that seem to just sit in the box. Not that I don’t like them, I just like the others more.

·

I have many I've not worn at all and probably never will. Mainly vintage woman's watches but a few that I originally intended to wear. My Yellow G-Shock springs to mind.

You're a good friend! I can see what you mean about the Swordfish. Thankfully the last release included a field watch version and I opted for that instead.

Yes, the new one is very pretty 👍🏻

Of the watches I really consider part of my collection, least worn this year is my Marathon Navigator. I got my GSAR earlier this year and it's largely replaced the Navigator for me. I did take the Nav on a trip during the summer, as a tritium watch I wasn't worried about somehow losing or forgetting while traveling. I think that's just about it though. This was sort of expected, because I ultimately purchased the Nav as a stepping stone to the GSAR, to figure out how much I liked tritium. Turns out I like it a lot.

This hasn't stopped me from wanting the steel navigator with the upgraded movement, durability, and water resistance. It seems like a fun watch for the gap between mechanical and g shock, or when I want a slimmer tritium option than my GSAR. The main reason I haven't pulled the trigger is just that I don't exactly need something between mechanical and g shock when I have at least three g shocks I enjoy wearing.

Understandable. I tried to get the GSAR issued to my unit. It got pretty far before the last person in the process said no. I know the Navigator was issued in the past, maybe I'll try that.

My least worn would be my Russians in general. Current events have me less than proud of my Russian heritage and I just haven’t felt much like wearing them.

This one. Because my 1 year daughter uses it as chewing toy for last 6 months

For me the watches that get the least wrist time is the expensive watches. I don’t like to show off and honestly I don’t want to give the signal that a expensive timepiece gives to my surroundings, because I’m afraid that it could be seen as disrespectful to my patients.

·

My Steinhart. Only wearing it when travelling. Didn't travel that much in 2023.

Timex Waterbury

I tried to give this a chance but it was such a disappointment. A light tap with a finger and it give a hollow sound. It repeat have to correct the second hand's reset position via hacking. Maybe I should have shelled a little more for a Marlin or a Q, because this $69 dollar watch is second worst watch I own.

·

My Casio calculator watch. It's got a negative display, bad viewing angles, and no light. Looks the business, but reading the time is damn near impossible.

Image

It's wild to see all the different watches here. One person's trash, as they say. This could totally be a swap thread. 😂

·

I felt guilty not giving this gem more wrist time. Maybe it’ll be my 2024 resolution, to wear this god tier watch more wrist time 😜

Image

Same!

Mine is the green display version with the green map, and I put it on a black bracelet. Very spec ops. Looks great. Feels great. The Royale deserves all the love it gets. And I love Casio. But I just don't wear it. I can't make sense of it.

At least it and my AE1300 can be lonely, together. 💔

Ive realized that calculator and the AE1200 are easy gifting watches to giveaway.

I have a couple sadly....first is the Timex Marlin 1965 Reissue. I rarely dress up now so there wasn't many opportunities to wear a traditional dress watch

Image

Second would be the Timex Q 1979. This is my travel watch in my collection and in 2023, I didn't travel to where I needed to keep track of two time zones

Image

Third would be the Bulova Lunar Pilot. I got it for my birthday and the large case size is the biggest reason why I don't wear it as much. Very cool watch though!!

Image

Lastly, there's my Casio F91W. This is my workout watch but I just wore other watches to the gym instead of this

Image

All really nice pieces. I feel you on the Marlin. I like it but already have more than enough dress watches and not enough occasions to wear them.

Sorry about the lemon. It's a shame to hear, I like the Waterbury line.

They are great watches but they got neglected because of these options

That's the main reason I asked! I figured there were good pieces I've never seen.

I genuinely wanted to like the watch. I seem to have bad luck with Timex watches

·

My Pam 312 is probably the least worn of my collection. I love it however my other pieces seem to fit better on a day to day basis.
