It's simple perfection! I own the new 36mm Explorer I.  I will purchase this as well . The 39mm, the hands etc. All beautiful

Enjoy your new acquisition, my friend, and most importantly, wear it in good health!

I am pretty new to collecting. Why is it divisive?

Anytime there is a new release by a major watch manufacturer everyone chooses teams, either "love it and want it" or "don't like it and here's why."  Most people don't care, but those that do really do.  The fun part is the teams change as we get farther from the release.

As @Aurelian said. People love or hate this one. It's boring. Or it's beautiful in its simplicity. There's going to be a lot of people who dream of an Explorer going for this piece. I may or may not be one of them.

@Aurelian @TimeCop ah. thanks. I was just thinking "wow that looks nice! Glad they sort of branched out." Maybe that is just because I am saving up for a Black Bay. Maybe I should switch it to this though.

I think I prefer this to the Black Bay 36.  And it’s well priced bearing in mind the quality of movement we can expect.

When I first saw this release liked the look of it, but when I realized it has or appears to have the same case, bracelet & crown as the bb58 , I don't think it quite works as a cohesive design. Is it a dive watch or a field watch? Is a Rolex Explorer a Submariner with a different dial & hands, nope......

Having both I can say they're really different. The bracelet isn't the same but it's similar. And it really doesn't feel like a diver. The design language is far from the same. But in spite of that's I do understand where you're coming from.
