I'm jonesing (help)

Not bought a watch this year. Not bought a watch in almost 6 months. Don't plan to buy a watch until May.

I have a major itch to scratch.

I feel like I'm asking the wrong people (you're enablers rather than sponsors!). But anyone got any tips for practising abstinence??

I keep a couple watches around that I now consider to be embarrassing impulse buy mistakes. They’re too worthless to sell. So when I’m tempted to impulse buy something just for a quick fix, I force myself to wear one of these monstrosities and face the abomination that my impulse buy has caused.

I also like to have a goal watch that I’m planning to buy, that I really like, and is beyond impulse territory. Focusing on the lost progress toward the actual watch I want, while wearing a tribute to past weakness and failure are usually enough to snap me out of another impulse buy I’ll be sure to regret.

Oh it's hard, but stay focused are you saving for something special, if you are keep it in mind that every impulse purchase takes you away from 'the watch'. Don't look at ebay, keep away from the u tube reviewers n social media. And take time to appreciate what you've got, maybe wear some of your lesser peices and see if you can feel the love with them.

It's a battle(I'm fighting it as well), oh there's always straps n bracelets to explore, which I'm doing now. Which can cost, but I see it as a 'lesser evil', and can give as much as a new watch. Actually might be good if admin could set up an abstinence badge. Good luck.

I think I am on the same boat too.

What I am doing now is staying away from all the online sites like chrono24. Been making so many 3 impulse purchases this years. And every purchases add extra months to my goal 😂

Polish the watches you have. Or swap around your straps, like @Stricko says.

And, yeah, the advice from @Adiplin to temporarily delete watch browsing sites is sound.

I pick up new straps when I get an itch. It can make an old watch feel new.

Force yourself to wear an Apple Watch, one month for each hundred (thousand?) dollars of purchase cost.
