Tissot PRX 35 in the California Sun

I'm not all a gold/bling sort of person, but I absolutely love the gold PRX (35mm). It's such a perfect summer watch. No surprise, it also makes you f...

I love my blue 1521. It’s my summer watch that I use for road cycling and other outdoors-y things here in California (on an ISOFrane rubber strap). Beautiful design and outstanding value for money.

You can get them for about 10% off retail if you simply ask. :-)

Calatravas, sector dials, and Tanks. :-)

To me, the P39 is the more interesting watch, but the BB54 is the more compelling watch. The latter perhaps intersects a bit more with your 36mm Explorer -- same general size, stainless steel...

I do really enjoy gazing at my BB54. In person, I prefer it to the P39. Again, the P39 is interesting. The BB54 is more timelessly compelling.

I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't like anyone who buys a Patek Nautilus with a denim strap... unless it was a joke.

Excellent question -- one that resonates with me. For various reasons (mostly bracelet related), neither the 114270 nor the 124270 worked for me. The Explorer is one of my favorite watch designs, and so it was difficult to accept the fact that I simply couldn't... anyway...

I had a bad experience with Smiths, so the Everest is out (sold my PRS-25 out of spite). The Lorier doesn't do it for me. I'm extremely annoyed with the poor performance of Seiko watches, so the SARB is out as well.

The only two watches that scratch the itch, for me, are the Sinn 556 and the Nivada 3.6.9. Both are incredible.

The size and the movement kill it for me. I’m still more attracted to the 35mm PRX. In more subjective terms, I also prefer the waffle dial on the Tissot.

Scratches on expensive watches don't bother me in the slightest. I take care of the nicer ones (as opposed to my trusty G-Shock 5600 which gets unapologetically slaughtered) -- regular servicing, cleaning, etc -- but I don't coddle them. Among other things, a perfectly pristine watch would look a bit weird/out-of-character on me.
