MoonSwatch Mission to Mars secured!

I made a general post with the unboxing and overview that I published on my YouTube channel, but I figured I'd post it in the #NWA section too because the ridiculous journey I had to go through to get this is absurd! From trying to find one at my nearest location (which meant driving over 200 miles and entering another country) to visiting the UK and visiting 2 Swatch locations, to just ultimately giving up...to finally in a miracle happenstance scenario having my friend vacation in Geneva and finding one for me...it was pure madness!

I legitimately had written it off and actually harbored some sourness towards Swatch, but like the watch nerd that I am, the micro-second there was a chance I could get one, I jumped on it 😂

So with all that said, here's my MoonSwatch Mission to Mars on a black and red rubber Horus strap 👍 and if you want to hear the full story and see some close-ups of the watch, then check out my other normal posts for the linky 😀

Nice. I’ve had my eye on Mars for a while and was able to recently pick it up in battersea in London. They had most colours in that day!

Love the Alaska connection and the colour!

Would love to hear a followup in, say, 12 months time - assuming you wear it with any regularity and it's not just a case queen - to see whether it's held together "in the real world", or whether you've experienced any of the common issues; scratched crystal, buttons popping off, etc. Wear it in good health.

Congrats! I've been hearing more and more folks finding them, but glad you managed to pick up a Mars for yourself! The Alaska connection definitely fun, and the color...it's the most colorful piece in my watch box that's for sure 😀 enjoy your timepiece!

Much appreciated! Yep, I try to rotate through my watches, mostly dependent on what I'm wearing. I'm not a safe hoarder, but I do take care of my watches when I wear them. I'm aware of the ease with which the crystal can scratch (from YouTube) and also the buttons coming off (Adrian from YouTube) but I definitely plan on doing a follow-up as I think it would be fun! Cheers 👍

Thanks! It started off as "wow, these look fun, and they're not expensive either, we should get one!" and then the whole storm of...everything hit. Then it became a mission, then disappointment, then resentment, and finally a surprise encounter that re-ignited the curiosity! 😂

I love Omega, but I just can`t with Swatch. Not in the 80`s and not now. Great post though👍

No, I hear you - there's people and people, and tastes/opinions differ. You know how it goes. This is my first foray into Swatch-ness 😀

Absolutely! They didn't make them with the intention that they wouldn`t sell. No judgement at all. I don`t like eating liver either lol

Aye, you're totally right! And you should give liver a try, I find that if it's buried under a bunch of other way more delicious things, it's totally palatable 😂👍

No, not quite - I didn't do everything I called out, those were all things I could have done to try and get it. For instance I never went to Canada (I live in Seattle) but I tried calling and no one answered. We did however go to the UK (but that was a anniversary trip that we were going to do anyways) I go into more details in the video 😂

That's very cool! I think it's such a fun concept and a fantastic idea, promoting a sort of "collect them all" scenario. In theory it's amazing, in practice, unless you live close to a Swatch store (like you) it turns into a tough sell. Congrats on the collection though, it looks epic 🥳
