Going on 18 months sober

Sitting at work counting down before it's shift change, and I realize I have less than a month till my 18mnth sobriety date, fast approaches. I would like to mark the occasion with a watch, but what to get? I am a man of meager means, so I was thinking Mako II or Gshock like a MudMan. Any thoughts from my well mannered fellow brethren, from these options or others that come to mind?

Firstly, amazing achievement, dude. Mako sounds like a great choice. They do a very nice red dial/burgundy dial, which I think it's super nice. Depends on your style tho!

I’ve recently bought the duro, perfect for knocking around, looks smart and a bargain price, oh and well done sir, I lost my brother to alcohol at 34 so always nice seeing people winning the war 💪

Honestly? Go for another G-Shock. A tough and resilient watch for a tough and resilient man. Congratulations!

·

Get yourself a Casioak can’t go wrong looks classy if needed and can get ran over by a tank and still keep going. Congrats on the 18 months brother 👌

I have a friend on here that is sending me this model in blue I think. So I'll have that to run with!! Hey sorry to hear about your brother. My fiance lost her battle of 8yra sobriety a month before we were to be wed. Rocked my foundation, so I can only guess at what it's like to lose a sibling. I'm gonna keep on trucking in my recovery, ever forward!!

I noticed the shocked emoji, I hope you took it as the compliment it was intended to be, and not an insult.

Congratulations. Celebrating 18 months away from the gates of Hell is an awesome achievement. Well done! As long as you can afford it, I say buy whatever puts a smile on your face and reminds you of your journey. You are not alone. BTW, I like the Mako.

I got myself this Festina to mark 2 years of sobriety.

Thank you, I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for a series of folks and my higher power in all honesty 😊

I've had my own roller coaster ride with sobriety, so I know what it means.

Congratulations. It does get easier as the time passes more. But sometimes and some days after life problems arise, it will be calling your name and it is the most familiar path to take. But don’t let that get to you. Just remember that it doesn’t make us do it, we just choose to. Take that and keep that power to yourself and keep moving forward. I’ve been down that hole for 10 years straight but I decided to take control instead. You’ve got this!

As others have said, congrats on a hard road. As for what watch to buy to celebrate? I’m not going to recommend one. Instead keep your eyes open and you will find one that calls to you.

Thank you. That's really good advice.
