New dive watch

I've been looking for a budget diver recently and narrowed it down to a few I like. I wanted something on a bracelet preferably and wanted it to have smaller dimensions (35-39mm). Any other recommendations are welcome. The seiko is my front runner at the moment but I'm open to suggestions ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think the Citizen is a solid choice. There are variants of promaster divers on bracelets, auto or quartz.

Have you looked at the Yema Superman? It comes in 39 or 41mm

I don't love the design on that personally but it's certainly a great watch

The Yema?

The Yema?

Yeah I favor shorter chunkier builds and the yemas got the vintage skin diver feel with long and flat dimensions. It also has that weird bezel feature and I don't like the look of the bracelets

The Yema?

Again, I don't think it's a bad watch at all just doesn't really do it for me

Yep fair enough. I really like the watch head but I do agree on the bracelets.

Some great choices but, I have to go with the Citizen Eco-Drive. I mean, it's solar powered and come in many styles and if you dig around, you can find some good deals on both the watches and the straps/bracelets. In fact, I'm wearing a Citizen Promaster Automatic Diver with full lume dial with a stainless steel band from Aliexpress that cost me $11 USD.

Yeah the citizen offers a lot. I think it's the least aesthetically pleasing but probably the best in functionality of the ones I picked. Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ˜

You're welcome!

I would go with citizen, the Seiko is more of a dive like watch, don't get me wrong, I own a 5kx and I love it, but the citizen is tougher.

Whats your wrist size? I have a 6.5 inch wrist and love a 36-38 but tried on the seiko 5 38mm and it just looked off, the proportions werent right... try some on before buying :)

I have 6 1/2- 6 3/4ish wrist but I like a smaller fit and I just sold a dive watch that was 37mm with similar dimensions

That is helpful to know though so I'll definitely try to get hands on before purchasing if possible. Thank you for the feedback ๐Ÿ˜Š

Would go with vaer, less sporty more gada

Baltic Aquascaphe is 39mm. Seiko Diverโ€™s 200M SKX013 is more budget friendly and is 38mm. And the Vostok Amphibian is the budget friendliest of the 3 with a case size of 39mm.

ยท

Go with the Citizen automatic. It has ISO certification and is rigged for everyday wear. I have one and put it on a silicone strap and itโ€™s comfortable and looks great

Yeah the aquascaphe looks great I will admit, not as much of a fan of the vostok amphibia though

Ngl I thought these were more expensive than they were until I just looked. We might have a new contender. Thank you!

Surpsingly affordable, well built watches for the money.

Also love how Lorier includes which three historically important watches inspired their design, and then add their Lorier twist.

I saw you had it on the compass nato, is the bracelet any good? That was my main hesitation with the seiko because I'd probably drop another $100 to upgrade the bracelet

Lorier's bracelets are good to go. Ask @Kevinseiko believe he's fitted the bracket and off the top of my head newest owner.

I only have a few watches with stainless, most, and all of my Lorier's rock single pass straps for work.

I think the bracelets are great. Female end links, screw in links, nice taper, 3 points of micro adjust. The Neptune iv has their updated bracelet as well which is thinner and the edges are slightly rounded off. I find it really comfortable.

If a Neptune is in the budget itโ€™s definitely worth consideration. Good luck!

Awesome I appreciate the detailed breakdown, thank you!

If you donโ€™t mind it being more for fashion than water use, Vostokโ€™s 420059, a.k.a. the classic โ€œScuba Dudeโ€, is a popular unisex option. I second the Lorier Neptune tho. Itโ€™s hard to beat. If you can weee that DressKX comfortably, then this will fit you. I wonโ€™t lie tho, the case sits a tall on the wrist, because of the conservative profile and the caseback. But I get used to it after wearing it for an hour or so.

ยท

I am such a huge fan of the #vaer - From the service right through to the joy of it on my wrist. 10/10.

I've been thinking about Lorier for some time now, and really like what I see in there but have a few new ones in my fleet now that will take care of that itch (for now).
