Is it wrong ?

I really would like to buy a green bezel to change things for my sub, I love the black but I thing the green has that pop. I asked a watch maker to do it and he refused; maybe thinking I wanted to scam somebody 🤷‍♂

What do you guys think ? I’m not planing on selling my watch I just want to change it.

Ooooh, I mean its your watch and you should be able to do whatever you'd like to it, but are you SURE you want to do that?

If you have zero plans to sell it, resale value might not be a consideration, but keeping it all original has some value as well.

Ugh. No. Don’t mess up the Rolex.

·

Build a Seikomod that copies your sub. I don’t know anything about modding Rolexes but maybe if you buy a new bezel and put the green chapter ring on it you could swap them out. I don’t even want to know what that would cost.

I wouldn’t say it’s wrong. Well…. It’s mostly wrong. It’s your watch. But like the other post said, maybe try it on a Seiko mod first.

Ironically, I did wear this today….

Oooohhhh, hell of a conundrum. I would keep my Sub original. But I also understand the desire to switch things up here and there

I don't know . . . just seems wrong regardless of you keeping or not. Siding with the watchmaker on this one. Are you not even going to pass it down? What about when you die? Someone is suddenly going to have a watch that is a "not a kermit".

Safest way to do this and maintain value is to purchase a new bezel, not just the insert, and swap it out. That way you can put the original back if you ever want to sell.

I say who cares? But apparently the people that believe there is something sacrosanct about how some item came from the factory do. You'll need to find someone not so afflicted.
