Inaugurating my first post by showing off the latest and greatest addition to my collection. My Seiko LX SNR045.

Hey everyone. I've had this watch for a couple months now and it's been an excellent daily driver. The LX collection of sports watches within Seiko's Prospex line up seems to fly under the radar somewhat, which I feel is a bit of a shame. The quality and value for money you get from them is pretty fantastic.

When I first learned of these high end tool watches with finishing comparable to Grand Seiko and spring drive movements, I was immediately intrigued. Then when I saw this stunning limited edition green version with its unique textured dial I knew I had to have it. It's been on my wrist almost every day since I first unboxed it.

This is my first Seiko with a spring drive and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. My watch has only been gaining about 2 seconds a month, making it more accurate than some of the quartz watches in my collection. The most sophisticated mechanical movements from Seiko that I had experienced prior to this were from the 6R series so this is quite a step up.

Does anyone else own a Seiko LX? I'd love to hear your experiences with them.

Love that dial! Question: What is that 0-72 (subdial?) for?

Thank you! That's the power reserve indicator. They're a common feature on watches with spring drive movements from Seiko and Grand Seiko.

Nice. It has some kind of „Matrix“ vibe!

Hi, I am considering getting the SNR033 but have no Seiko boutique in my neighborhood to try it on.

My concern is about the thickness of the watch.

Is it an issue for you and what is your wrist size?

Have a great weekend😎

There's no getting around the fact that it's a thick watch. If you like wearing close fitting long sleeved shirts it's going to be awkward. That being said, in terms of overall comfort I don't have any issue with it.

Despite being so thick, it has a low center of gravity and the bracelet helps make the weight of the watch feel evenly distributed so it hugs my wrist closely without feeling top heavy.

My wrist size is about 6.8 inches (17.27cm).

Thank for your helpful comment.

I really need to see it in person and try it on. 👍

Had a Grand seiko Spring drive diver titanium sold it after the shine started going dull

Few years on what itching for another spring drive got the Seiko LX spring drive stealth wealth watch

Very Happy because most people think 🤔 it's just another runner the Mill Seiko's

Only Seiko and watch people know what it is

Thanks so much! It's by far one of the best watches from the Prospex line up to come out in a while.

Beautiful watch. I am seriously considering one myself but wondering if I would regret not ‘stepping up’ to a GS at that price. Even though GS doesn’t make anything this good looking that i know of.

Thanks! Obviously I'm biased, but I believe an LX is the better choice if you want a dive watch with a spring drive or an LX GMT. The Grand Seiko titanium spring drive diver is more expensive and it doesn't look anywhere near as good, at least to me. It's hard to beat the Prospex LX which draws so much of its looks from the vintage 6159 diver and the later MM300's.

I'm not much of a fan of Grand Seiko's sports watches in general. I think dressier pieces are where they really shine. If I get a GS, it'll probably be something from their Heritage Collection like a 44GS with 9F quartz movement or maybe a high beat automatic.

That is a beautiful watch. Since you love Seiko, I'm prepared to offer my SSC813 in exchange for it 😉
