Is it me or maybe because I was born in the late โ70โs that I gravitate towards this design. The case is so lack of a better word โcool classyโ ๐ย

Agreed, I think for me everything back in the 70s was designed to what we thought the future would look like so lots of space/ sci-fi- ish design with lots of curves and rounded edges. Funny thing is I think people back in the 70s where a bit optimistic about how the future would look, it certainly ain't as cool as they thought it would be ๐ I was made in 1987 but yet love the 60/70s stuff.ย
That case brushing is immaculate! ย Are these electrics straight forward to service or do you need to find a specialist?ย
I think a decent watch maker should be able to service one, the issue would if a replacement part was needed, ย as these movements have been out of production for around 50 years. I haven't had mine serviced as the watch cost about ยฃ90 in total from Japan & a service would be about twice what it is worth. Mine run at +15 spd though so not too bad & I'm not sure a service would make much difference to the timekeeping. I think it's worth getting one though as they are a cool piece of history/technology that didn't catch on due to Quartz movements!
Very nice, interesting I had thought Seiko only made Electronic balance watches between 1972 to 1974. Here's an image of mine!
