Personally I say a classy chronograph (not that I own one yet) or what Teddy Baldassarre might call an “everyday” type watch. My closest thing would be an Orient Kamasu. Might be a diver but on a nice leather strap it dresses up nicely.

I have the red kamasu, I have to say it's a reliable fun watch.

For me, my Girard-Perregaux seems timeless, although it’s just a simple small seconds date.

I have the red kamasu, I have to say it's a reliable fun watch.

That was the first watch my wife bought for me.  Valentines day last year. Love it (except the stem).
