Have always liked wrist watches since being given a Timex for Christmas as a child (waaaay back in the '60's LOL!). Have owned several daily-wear pieces (mostly Timex) over the years and these ultimately became proverbial "Beaters" because of daily wear n' tear. About a decade ago I started adding a few nicer (albeit "budget") watches and now have a modest collection of about 14 or so; mostly Seiko, Casio, Timex, Vostok
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A Timex. Given to me as a child by my parents for Christmas back in the mid-1960's
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have a vintage Vostok Amphibia that was owned by my Father. He picked it up from a Soviet sailor whom he encountered back in the early 1990's. It still works!
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don't go overboard with "watch lust" and don't buy into "watch snobbery". It can be a fun hobby, but it's just that, a hobby.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Some of the Aliexpress Homage brands, Pagani Design and the like.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Have a couple. Some of which I'll probably never afford! Omega Speedmaster "Moon Watch", Tudor Black Bay 58, Seiko Alpinist (green dial) and the Seiko SNA413 Flighty (white-blue panda dial).
Have been a space-nut since a child, so the Speedmaster would be the ultimate Grail :)
