I am happy enough that two other degenerates among my friends like watches. As for acquaintances, most of them get the hobby but they don't care enough to know how stunning are the Côtes de Genève or engraving on the bridges.

It would, however, have to be a watch he can wear with tailored clothing with a sporty look, without looking out of place. The Rolex is Dr No and the Seamaster 300 in Goldeneye are perfect for that.

It has changed over time.

I initially purchased my first watch, a Seiko 5 as I couldn't keep on looking at the time on my phone as I found it unprofessional at work. This is when the itch started until I acquired my first 'luxury watch', and down the Rabbit Hole I was.

They are fascinating objects because, whilst offering the same primary function, they all offer something unique which is precisely why you would buy one instead of the other. I got my Snowflake because of the breathtakingly beautiful dial and its zaratsu finish, all embellished by the sweep of the spring drive. It really is a contemplative watch, perhaps the one which I stare(d) at the most. I would regard it as arty as a Turner or a Sorolla.

Sometimes, I would be careful as to the outfit I wear at work to wear a specific watch. My divers watch would be with jeans and t-shirt although I do wear my dressed piece with these too...

Just like as a kid I was collecting logos or Dragon Ball cards, I feel like collecting watches works in a similar fashion where you would also show your cool toys with your friends and play all day. I do wish that the top watches I desire would be as affordable as a lego AT AT...

Watchfinder FTW.

Kevin is just a man with loads of money who buys what is trending. Whenever he talks about watches, it is always the same dull comment over and over again. Speaks a lot but doesn't say much. "Oh, what I like about this maison is their attention for detail. And you get a lot of that with this brand... amazing movement... fantastic quality."

Back to good taste, Brian Govberg and Tim Mosso, albeit not as productive as a filmed duo, is always a treat. Both are such profund founts of knowledge and they make you research the models they refer to. I just wish the models they often discuss were more affordable.

It is a fantastic collaboration, not the first one Wei Koh did, as Frank Muller's name was just collecting dusk and being just a comic relief.

ChronoGuy's explanation of the fall of FM reveals how quickly can a brand plunge into utter oblivion which really says a lot about Mille, whether you like the brand as a whole or not. It also reinforces how perennial Rolex will be. Although I am not a fan of late Rolex, their communication and marketing strategy, which I deplore, works wonders.

Back to the FM watches collaboration, I like all three but the pulsation one has a thick bezel, in my opinion. Is there a mechanical rationale for this? The last two look fantastic, you can tell of the PP and VC influence although the Breguet numerals feel a bit odd to me on a chronograph.
