I cannot stand the company at all for I had a terrible customer experience too. It actually made me realise that it is not worth buying brand new when most watches can be obtained cheaper on the grey market.

I would now buy second-hand and I would rather support an independent business owner than vampiric companies like WoS.

Congratulations!! You will cherish it as you coveted it. When bored, get some straps to spice it up.

Too early to say the Omiwatari as it is fairly recent but it does not mark a particular point in time, I reckon.

Both Snowflake, SBGA011 and 211 have the whole package and offer excellent value for the price. The White Birch and the SBGA413 are fantastic too but they are not as discreet and versatile as the Snowflake.

The hands with that dial just look out of this world

All three are dressy whilst still being able to look nicely with more casual clothes. The dressiest is the Tank Must as it is more discreet and has sleeker lines. Also, it sits the best on your wrist compared to its two competitors. Furthermore, it does not have a big case, a thick vezel and a date. So, I would opt for this one based on these factors.

I will, however, say that the Américaine has more punch that the other two and will be more versatile because of its thick vertical lines.

My guess is that your betrothed loved the Santos so that she can borrow it from you.

Anyway, you cannot go wrong with any of these.

If not, have a look at Jaeger-LeCoultre or Omega.

JLC should be a rank higher. Just looking at their Duomètre collection and the gyros they made puts them miles away from Rolex and Cartier. Plus, they supplied some of the most respected Swiss makers with movements for years.

For me, sports watches are simply too bulky to be considered dressy. Anything under 8 mm is dressy as it slips nicely under the cuff of your shirt.

Going back to the term dressed sports watch, although it sounds like an oxymoron, some pieces would sit better with tailored pieces like a Datejust or even a Breguet Marine. It is then, in my opinion, due to size and/or style.

A Corniche which was a blatant attempt at copying the PP chronographs from the 70s.

Although the dial was pretty, the watch was too light and there was always that 'off' feeling when wearing it.

I gave it away and the guy who I gifted it too never wears it too. It will always be unwanted in the end.
