I'll be selling off the rest of my collection to leave me with these (plus a vintage and a Vostok which aren't worth selling). I've realised I just don't want/need anything more.
My current 3, though Iโm looking to move the SBGN003 as its not challenging the other two for wrist timeโฆ unless someone can confirm an alternative beads of rice/jubilee bracelet that could fit the SBGN, please?
i don't think i'd need a dress watch enough to justify buying one! since i wear scrubs to work every day, i would probably only dress up for special occasions. and i think i can be forgiven if i show up to my wedding wearing a BB58 ๐
I agree 100%, such a beautiful watch and part of its appeal is the design Is unlike anything else Iโve seen. I was in the market for an SBGX261 or the equivalent 40mm. Then I saw this at a jewellers online and fell in love straight away. Itโs new and bought within 24hrs of discovering it in Mayfair, London. It really scratches that dress up/down itch and again, a rare piece that sits outside the norm. Love it!
These are my three minimalistic watch collection..ย
Casio F-84w (for work and exercise)
ย Lorier Falcon SIII (daily automatic)
ย Seiko Dolce SACM171 (HAQ dress)
Had to do some marie kondo and flip some.. There is still a few more to be off loaded and I will probably add two more mechanical before I am at peace with my collection ๐
Yo what model is that sinn u50? The only thing holding me back from acquiring one of the current productions is theres too much red in that watch. Yours looks superbly muted!
It's the U50 Profesional. Only 150 were made for Watchbuys, the USA distributor, and they sold out fast. I love it and like that they got rid of the date window. If you get a regular U50, I really recommend getting the fully Tegimented version.

Thanks for the close up, you've made me really jealous and happy for you that manage to snag one. It looks GORGEOUS.

That's going to be a bit unconventional.
Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U on a combi-bracelet for everyday. It will also be my field watch, GMT and chronograph. It's perfect.
Dietrich SD-1 for all the occasion where I need to dress up a bit better.
Seiko SARB017 for all the other occasions where I have to dress a bit better but it will clash with a blue dial.
The Three Omegas!
here is my 3 black dial collection: everyday, dive, chrono
I'm already down to three nowย
Submariner 124060
Explorer 214270
Sinn 857 UTC (saving for a GMT Master II)
Land - Sea - Air
What a cruel exercise! ๐
The watches I only keep for nostalgic reasons aside, if I'd have to pick only three...
An everyday kind of watch, usable but dressy enough - Seamaster 120 m
A big dive watch for the more rugged looks - DS Action Diver 43ย
A slightly weird watch to make things fun - Serica 4512
(Everything is subject to change depending on my mood)
Here is my entire collection. Seiko SZSB011, SLA057 and SRPE55.ย
My Tissot PRX for my everyday watch.
My Citizen Promaster Eco Drive GMT, for the water resistance.ย
And last but not least, my Seiko Speedtimer Solar. My best boye!ย
Mind you, this may change in the future.
gshock gw5000u
Q timex
Timex Modern Easy Reader
Timex Marlin
bambino for formal occasion
airman and kamasu for everyday

Three non of which I own so this is a bit of dream selection but I think it covers most occasion's.
I think this is what the premise of the original post is about.
If it should be of my current collection then:
Of my current collection...
Here's a 3 watch+1 for $10K.
But if I could reasonably buy an ultimate 3-watch collection?
A Speedy, a Tudor Ranger, and (I can't believe there wouldn't be a diver, but...) the red-dialed bronze Oris pilot
