I know EVERYONE hates it and how loud it is! I’ve heard how people literally have to cram their Timexes in a desk while trying to sleep or put it in another room.
But I like the tick! A Timex was my first watch and it’s just a comforting, reassuring noise, in my humble opinion. It reminds you that it’s there wherever you are. I don’t mind it at night because for me, it’s just a monotonous noise that helps me sleep

The tick, Timex or not, is something I imagine brought many into the hobby.
I totally agree, I always remember my grandfather’s watches making loud ticking sounds when I was a kid, brings back great memories.

I don’t really like the “Timex Tick”, but I have found that their chronographs are noticeably quieter than the regular movements.

I am, my Timex ran out of power and with the Indiglo broken and crystal scratched like crazy, I "retired" it
Loudest watch I own is a Smiths De Luxe. That could wake the dead.
I like a loud watch, I have a few automatics that have loud rotors, and I love it .
