Review of my first week with my first Casio! Very pleasantly surprised

I already made a separate post about my Casio A168 & don't wanna repeat myself for my sake or y'all's, so this is just gonna be pros & cons :)

Here's a spec sheet for any curious people. I'd normally list it out but there's just so much to it, I thought a link would be quicker.

I'll start with cons, because I hardly have any!

Honestly, my biggest con would be lack of suitable water resistant, but given the fact that it's a Casio, I'm almost sure it's higher than it claims to be. I also wish you could adjust how loud or soft the beeps are, but IDK how feasible this would be. I've no experience with bracelets, but this seems comfy though it does pull some hairs.

Aside from that, I'm blown away by everything you get at a criminally low price! You get a stylish, slim case with a bracelet with an adjustable metal clasp with retro styling. No fancy tools are needed to change the battery, just a small screwdriver, and the battery lasts 7 years! You also get a fantastic backlight, a handy stopwatch, and an alarm function.

Heck, I'm not even upset about the resin case. It's light & strong, so no niggles there for me.

The price? Just $30 new, probably cheaper on sales days & even lower secondhand. I got mine for $15. Good on you Casio!

Need some stuff to pad out the requirements...

  • I believe nobody cares about your watch but you & fellow nerds. (Heck, Clinton & Bush wore Timexes in office). I wore this to the opera & found it to a great pick. The great backlight really shines through in situations like that. The beeping when I accidentally hit something else, was not. (I muffled it with my jacket though).

  • This is my first watch bought on a metal bracelet & I gotta say, I now see why people love a good taper

  • Also being rectangular, it does wear a bit bigger than it says (38.6mm x 36.3mm x 9.6mm).
