Bracelets: What should I know about them?

I know the majority of people seem to like their watches on bracelets, but for the longest time, I didn't like them.

I've never worn one, but as a student, I feel like a full on bracelet seems kinda blingy (ostentatious, "draw attention to me!") and heavy. IMO mesh straps are a great, more low-profile metal strap, but I've warmed up to bracelets more!

But I haven't a clue about what to consider/terms when buying one. So I'm asking y'all (who clearly know their watch stuff) for some insight. Things like:

What are solid endlinks? Or different types of clasps? Why is milled better than stamped? Are microadjusts that important? How do you size them right? What types are there & how should I choose which to buy? I don't wanna spend too much, so is eBay a good place to get some? etc. etc.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

That’s a lot of questions… may be start with this article https://wornandwound.com/opinion-what-makes-a-great-bracelet/#:~:text=There%20are%20a%20variety%20of,other%20elements%20of%20the%20watch.

It’s personal preference and generally the price reflects the quality. Good luck 🤞

If you are staying in a country with tropical climate like me, having a bracelet is better because you can easily wash the sweat and grime off your watch, unlike leather and nylon straps which will only accumulate your unique "musk" to the point of disposal.

Here's a video by Teddy Baldasserre that covers straps and bracelets. The bracelet section starts at 22:26.
