Going in the pool for work today so you know what it means ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ. Had to bring this lovely tool as always. Have a superb Saturday fellow Crunchers.

Thanks Danilo. It's also a gift from a friend of mine. He's a sneakerhead unlike me ๐.

Wonderful shots and your kicks (on the background) match the watch extremely well. ๐๐ช

Thanks David! They do match well with the black, silver, and white combo. If i were to include the blue from the shoes, I'd say it match the blue AR coating on the watch crystal then ๐.
Great pshotos, have a great Saturday๐
Beautiful photos once again Sam! Enjoy your weekend ๐

Gorgeous photos!
@SamSam I have a question about the watchโฆ I see itโs Addiesdive. How is the quality? Do you enjoy it? Do you enjoy it more than the Orient Kamasu you have? Is it better or worse quality than Kamasu?
Gorgeous photos!
Appreciate it Bill, thanks!

Great question David! Since you're arming this question In assuming you aren't a 'watch snob' as they called it. Watch snob won't even consider it curious about homages.
I would say the only reason people buy and keep using their Chinese microbrands are simply because of the value for the price. If you only think of quality then you wouldn't even consider these brands and go straight away to the real deal. But if you take price into consideration you would hesitate and lean a lil bit towards these microbrands. That's how much value they bring to their market.
However, if you tell me to close my eyes and choose either the Addiesdive Willard homage or the Orient Kamasu I have here, 10/10 I would choose the Addiesdive based on their build quality alone which is insane!
I got my Kamasu because of the unique design, but the Addiesdive have been decided to replace my G-Shock as my underwater work beater watch. Of course there are some places where the Addiesdive can still be improved like the clasp and maybe dial layout. But other than that, the whole watch brings a lot of value for the price tag they're asking for.
Solid case, solid bracelet, solid movement (NH35 from Seiko with is equivalent to their in-house 4R35). Lume is so so which is not really a big deal, but the whole markings on bezel is lumed as well so that's a bonus!
For those who is very2 new into watch collecting and having a hard time between these 2 or Chinese microbrands vs Japanese mainstream brands (Seiko/Orient/Citizen), my only question i would like to ask themselves is 'would you rather buy a watch, wear it for 10 years then service it to use it again? Or would you buy a watch, wear it for 10 years and buy a new one afterwards instead of service cause they might cost the same anyway?'
If you know the answer to this question then you know which to choose cause by then you know what value you want the watch to bring to you.
Oh btw I still love the Kamasu a lot! I mean come on! Look at that bronze watch, so beautiful~ ๐.

Hey Sam. Firstly, thank you so so much for such a detailed answer to my question/s. ๐ I really appreciate AND I think you could create a really good review post from it to share this knowledge with the wider audience at WatchCrunch.
Now, the real reason why I am interested in this homage because I really like the design, but I am not sure if it will fit me physically and estheticallyโฆ I live in the tiny island and, unfortunately, we donโt have watch shops with the broad Seiko (if any) offering. So, before buying the original watch from Seiko I consider getting this one and see if I really like it. If so, I would then add a real model to my โwish listโ and would plan towards it.
I am a rookie / fresh watch enthusiast and I want to have and try all the watches that I see, but not only I donโt have the money to buy them all, I also want to avoid making mistakes with the high cost to them (if I would have to sell the watch that I donโt like).
Anywaysโฆ thanks again Sam. It was very very helpful.
A few watches from Addiesdive are already on the way (one I call โDUNEโ and one โSnow Ripplesโ ๐) and I will be sharing photos here when the time comes, and then I saw your post today and asked, because I was eyeballing that watch as well but didnโt pull the trigger yet. ๐ But now I guess I willโฆ but a bit later.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day. ๐๐โ๏ธ

To be honest David, we're pretty much the same. In still quite new to watch collecting too. However one thing I've learnt which is the most important in this hobby is that 'buy for yourself instead of pleasing others'. Basically if you buy something that please others but didn't like it yourself, you wasted money. But if you buy something for yourself instead of pleasing others, you'd still enjoy it anyway.
Since you have 17cm wrist which is actually 1cm bigger than mine I think, this homage will fit you perfectly. In terms of the wear, this is by far one of the most comfortable stainless steel watch I've worn yet. The 'cushion' style case really hugs the wrist comfortably. I'd say if you want to get the Seiko, save up and just get that ๐ค๐ป. It will fit you physically, aesthetically however like I said no need to please others cause most won't care.
I have around 11-12 watches but most of them are 'filler watches'. I mostly use 3-4 at most if the time and the rest are just 'for fun' which I think is actually stupid cause I don't have much money too ๐คฃ.
Those Addiesdive you ordered will be amazing I promise! I've been eyeing them for quite a while too. You'd be surprised with the quality you get. Of course don't expect Rolex quality but for the price, they're insane.
Enjoy your new toys! Hope they arrive quicker than expected and safely to your hands. ๐
Lovely pics.. as always, Sam. Have a great weekend and happy diving with your Addiesdiver ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
