Early birthday gift to myself, got the ok from the misses a couple days ago and was planning to scour local ADs and determine if I wanted to brave online sales sites (not too enthused with larger purchases).
Lo and behold on a trip across the state for daughters sports competition, the city we stayed in had a small pre-owned only shop. I decided to pass on the platinum Daytona (seriously, $114k...) but this guy was staring at me from behind the glass.
I've been mulling over this or the black version, and decided in that moment this was the one. The blue is darker than the standard pelagos, which was something that I was concerned about (prefer more subdued).
Bam, Bing, Bobs your uncle, and out I walked with this beauty, 2 additional straps, and all the accoutrement.

Yeah, that was a prerequisite. Though she was more encouraging than I expected. I have a feeling she's planning something that will also impact the bank account around her birthday!

I find my wife way more supportive of my expensive purchases than I thought she’d be. If I’m happy, she’s happy! What a wife (of 37 years)!
