Seiko 6R35 movement is 💩

I really like my Seiko SPB333.

It’s thin, we’ll sized, comfortable, looks great…

But the movement is crap. It’s rated as +25 to -15 seconds per day and mines running I suspect every bit of that +25 a day fast.

Over a week that’s 3 minutes fast.

Good job I bought it as a beater/beach/holiday watch at a massive discount to be worn when keeping accurate time isn’t “that important”

I dunno how anyone could daily or use during the work week one of these. It would drive me bonkers.

Learning a lot about myself, my needs and desires as I re-start my watch collection 😂

You should just take it to a watchmaker and have it regulated for a small fee. Usually these can run very accurately but Seiko just doesn't do it properly from the factory.

Does anyone know a free timegrapher app for iPhone ?

As @laurik says, take it to a watchmaker. At least your bezel/chapter ring alignment looks okay, which is the main gamble when buying a Seiko.

Ah yes that’s one thing I checked before leaving the store 😂

I have used Watch Tuner but using the mic from the headset isn't great for proper regulating.

Yeah I just want a more accurate ballpark that’s all

·

Try letting it sit 3up during the night/when not wearing it.

On the apple app store, try Toolwatch.

·

I’m with you on the 6r35

Yours is off. Both of my 6R35s run within 5 seconds per day. Go ahead and proclaim they’re all crap. 👏👏👏

·

Yeah, agree I've had a few, still got 3 & they're not the best for accuracy and precision. Positional variance ain't great either, but bought them as beaters not for amazing timekeeping 😂

"Timegrapher" and "Watch Accuracy Meter" work with your phone's microphone. Timegrapher gives a better read imho.

·

I have one in my Alpinist, and it is indeed dreadful. I own a timegrapher and regulate my watches. Firstly the positional variance on the 6R35 is absolutely awful, and is worse than the 4R35. I can fully wind it, regulate it, and the next time I wear it it will be keeping poor time again. A comparative movement is the Miyota 9000, and that is soooo much better

I own a timegrapher, but you have to understand that doesn't really tell you the true accuracy of a watch, even if you check in four or so positions. I will wear a watch for a day, check the true accuracy, then speed the movement up using the timegrapher, but based on the real time accuracy

·

Mine runs around +2 secs per day but these movements are all over the place. I guess I lucked out

·

Nothing regulation couldn’t handle, they just aren’t highly accurate out of the factory to save labor cost I’m assuming.
