Chinese meca or real brand quartz

I need help for my next purchase. As you see I like to buy a salmon dial watch. My initial choice is this merkur for 190€ but I recently try this nice briston (270€) in a watch store. The size of the briston are perfect for my little wrist but the finition are not exceptional. You probably saw the inspiration from Laurent ferier.

I’ve personally never heard of Briston so they could be just any AliExpress brand to me. Go with what you like. A Japanese quartz (if that’s what they use idk) will out last any Chinese mechanical.

I quite like the Merkur, it seems to get positive reviews and would be my pick. Check your prices though, you may be able to get it a little cheaper 👍

I don't know either brand so no bias. The Merkur is visually more interesting to me with a cool textured dial, raised indices, nice fonts.

The Briston by comparison looks very basic. Minimalism pushed to this extreme ends up just looking cheap to me.

I'd go with the merkur, actually I have it in my shopping cart on AE, I just need to add a few more things before I place an order....

This. The Briston has a more plausible salmon color (meaning I don't like it) but more importantly the indices and typeface are utterly banal. In every other way I prefer the Briston, but dial and handset are really the face of the watch. What a butterface.
