Getting rid of scratches on brushed stainless steel?

As far as I'm aware, dealing with polished stainless steel and brushed stainless steel are two very different things. Does anyone have any advice on getting rid of scratches from a brushed stainless steel bezel edge? Thanks in advance!

This looks to be a radial brushing pattern. I guess one could play around with mimicking that by hand with the light abrasive of choice, but I've personally decided that any attempt at a fix will look worse than the initial damage.

@OscarKlosoff makes an excellent point about just leaving it. That's the best option if one can live with knowing the scratch is there. But if you can't live with it, well then welcome to the world of working with stainless steel.

I've never tried creating a brushed stainless look, only polishing it to a high shine. I imagine one would use an increasing grit size until it matched the factory brushing.

Practice on a beater watch or buy one and practice with it. Sounds like a fun project!

The problem with a radial pattern is that, besides worrying about the grain being centered, the abrading item needs to be very narrow to avoid crossed lines.
