About to get a bit of a windfall. An element could go on a grail

For the same money I can get A recent skydweller in steel An old 36mm day date A full fat 50 fathoms The skydweller is above list. The day date isn’t but is older than my kids. The Blancpain would be at a discount. I feel iffy paying over list but Tbf even the old day date price is still inflated. I’m working my way round seeing how they fit but am throwing the question to the Borg. If anyone is interested in what else is in the collection, search on me and there have been some SOTC posts

Given that you have an Octo and a Rieussec, I would suggest the Sky Dweller. You clearly have an eye for the cool yet less common.

I second the Sky Dweller suggestion. It's different enough to be unique in your collection, while also being a Rolex - so high quality, reliable, etc.

Congrats!

A gold Day-Date is awesome. Or just get some gold bullion as a store of wealth. Your call.

+1 on spending half and donating half but only because I'm doing my taxes now and mitigating the tax hit with a donation gives you a 2-fer (altruistic plus financial benefit) plus you can calculate how it reduces your taxes, if any, and add that to your watch budget.

I voted for the 50 fathoms because of the history but would have voted Sky Dweller if it was at list except my strong aversion to paying over list for anything held me back.

UK tax breaks on donations are nowhere near as generous as US.

My charitable donations and good works are a separate topic which I tend to keep private. Assume for now that these issues are covered elsewhere

It looks like you have a large wrist. So I voted for skydweller. The 36mm Day Date could be a hair too small for you. The Blancpan is probably on a leather/fabric. I think steel bracelets look more stunning.

In a perfect world- a new Sky at retail (I'd have a hard time paying a premium on a used watch).

Of course, the Fifty Fathoms is an awesome watch too...

Sky dweller..
