New strap for 1929 Hamilton Square B!

So this came from a gentleman in Vietnam and I wasn’t sure he would get it right but I am very happy I was wrong. I gave him all the necessary measurements and waited. Very pleased with the look! And now it will protect the watch more. Here’s the thing, he offered these only in a round bund style so I asked him to square it a bit, like the watch shape and I sent him a picture of the watch.

Thank you sir! 👍

I think that 1920's watches are difficult to showcase. They originally had bracelets or straps that we would hardly recognize.

Very true. I know the proper look of a pigskin strap would’ve been dead on for the watch head but wanted to try something a bit more customized. Since the watch had been fully restored

Beautiful! That’s so awesome that you got that customized! It works well! Which #hamilton model is that? I love that look.

Thank you! It’s called the Square B, “B”stands for Barrel case and “C” stands for Cushion case. Try and find one with a fully engraved case, like this one. You might find one but it’ll need a lot of work! These were only made for the years of 1929 to 1932, there’s a two-tone version, the plain or non engraved version, and came in 14K yellow or white gold. These were loosely based on the Illinois New Yorker watch that came out several years before Hamilton bought the Illinois watch company in 1927. Here’s a sales example from the early 1930s. Notice these were offered in luminous dial as well. Pretty expensive considering this was in the first few years of the Great Depression.

Great band, love it. I have a Hamilton from the ‘40s that this might work for. Here it is alongside the newer Hamilton release. Does the strap maker have a link? Thanks!

Thank you! Oh yeah, the one on the right? Beautiful Hamilton Grover. Or at least I think that’s what yours is. Hamilton had a ton of names for all their different models. He does. Let me find it for you. I don’t have a link but his shop is listed as SolArtWorkshop and my strap was priced at only $29.99! You simply have to contact him through Etsy and give him all your measurements, send him a pic of your watch, case size, lug to lug across and lug width. He does the rest! If your watch is flat meaning not curved, it will work great. I just thin a curved case would be an issue with a bund strap.

Damn the watch looks so cool and looks great on that strap, you dont see too many dominant rectangular watches like that anymore

Thank you! I’ve been looking for this watch for several years and finally found someone who not only appreciates them as much as I do but is also a watchmaker and was able to fully restore/service it.
