Question: Does Your Pelagos Irritate Your Fingertips?

Here’s some pics of my Tudor P39 (and BB54). Every time I handle my Pelagos 39, it slightly irritates my fingertips. I don’t experience this with any other watch in my collection, all of which are stainless steel or precious medal, or g-shock. Does anyone else have this issue?

The watch doesn’t irrritate my wrist — only my fingertips 😡

I dislike the feel of Titanium, but wouldn't say it's irritating. I just don't like the feel.

Like, how it feels with your fingertips and on wrist, or the weight? I don’t know if it’s the metal, the finishing, or both.

Dunno, I have a Tissot T-touch that feels ok, but I've a Zelos Swordfish that I really dislike - just feels "off" . You could well be right, could be the finish. Definitely not a fan of the insubstantial lack of weight (I am over 50)

As in, the crown hurts your fingertips when you wind it?

No the entire watch. All the metal

Upss i think you are alergic to Titanium, My dad had this strange allergy, my mother had to varnish the back of a Breitling watch that was made of titanium so he could wear it.

·

You can't do anything else but try #grandseiko high intensity titanium and brilliant high titanium to investigate further! 🕵

Have same pair 👍🏼 The edges of the Pelagos were sharp at first but I could not say irritating…

Maybe take an antihistamine before you touch it 😂 (sorry not helpful)

I am thinking that, but if that were the case, I’m sure it would irritate my wrist while wearing it. Idk… I do have soft, pale skin lol. Thx

If it becomes unbearable, I have a place for it in Kentucky's home for misfit Tudors...😎

Hmmm fingertips are very sensitive, I’m going allergic reaction! Had same problem with tungsten wedding ring now worn on chain around neck with no problem.

·

Personally I would never get a Titanium Watch. Based on the properties of the metal, don’t like easy scratches or that it’s a softer metal.

·

i dislike this for you.

·

Is it really hot?

·

Probably an allergic reaction as other ppl have mentioned. It’s not uncommon. What I have is uncommon… I’m allergic to cold. So the titanium suits me quite well as opposed to steel.

·

Titanium contact allergy exists, but it is rare. I did a quick literature search and it less than 1%

I think you guys are right, because when I touch my other watches, my fingertips don’t become irritated.

Wow. I’m not surprised, because I suffer from a lot of rare ailments. My wife often says I’m allficted by everything rare 😂 😢

No itching or sharpness. I don’t even know how to describe it. It just causes irritation to my fingertips when handling the watch, and I don’t experience this when handling other watches. I have to put ointments or lotions on my fingertips prior to bed due to the irritation.

I’m not getting rid of the watch. I’m learning to deal with it. But it does indeed suck. Makes me not want to handle the watch.
