Sharing the joy of watches

Decided to give my dad a belated Father's Day gift of a Brew Retrograph in this "espresso" colorway. He's not really a watch guy but does appreciate watches, and was absolutely delighted with it. I think it goes great with his skin tone and wrist size, though I must admit I had a momentary pang of wondering if I should have held onto it myself for a little while. Yet part of the hobby is sharing the simple joy of watches with others, and I was glad to see him smile looking down at his wrist.

What watches have you given to those in your life you care about? How have they reacted? Drop some stories in the comments!

Some day that nice watch is going to come back to you with really beautiful memories. Great gift. Great Style. Great Watch.

Fantastic gift! Looks super

Killer gift! Great choice of watch.  Brew is easily in my top 5 brands that I want in the near future.

I gave my mother a Tissot the other day.  Two tone because she's in her mid 70's and old people like that.  Automatic because she was complaining about batteries dying and she is still an active old bird.  As a bonus, the particular model I picked was actually a certified chronometer which I'm not sure that she will fully appreciate because she will still be late everywhere she ever goes.

Some people, it matters not how good the watch is, they will always be late.

Nephew just graduated high school as the valedictorian. I passed along a watch I wasn't wearing. An Archon Seafarer; a mechanical auto that was my best watch specs-wise; I just was not in love with the watch.

Unbeknownst to me, he had recently gotten into watches and when he unwrapped the gift, his face lit up like a Christmas tree.

I give my dad watches every once in a while. But I've given watches to coworkers too.
