After almost a month of waiting, due to shipping issues from Japan, the new SSK005K1 GMT has now arrived.
This time last week I was ready for cancelling the pre-order when the dealer had no idea how much longer I'd be waiting. I was growing impatient if honest, and other Limited edition watches were starting to call on me ๐.
Anyway, this morning I got an email with pre-delivery advice and an hour later it arrived on my doorstep.
I slowly unboxed and carefully removed tags. Was pleasantly surprised that the strap isn't the usual pin & collar, so only took around 10 minutes to remove the 3 links required and a hole along the micro adjust for a perfect fit. Im really liking the jubilee bracelet, so comfortable ๐ฅฐ .
I now totally get what folks are saying about the 2 tone hardlex bezel, looks fantastic when the light flips it from black to black/silver and back again ๐๐.
I'm not too fussed about the display back, it all seems a bit gimmicky if honest.
What I wasn't prepared for was how classy the orange dial would look in the flesh. I was under the impression that it was a solid matte orange dial, but its amazing in the light with the anodised almost metallic colour shimmering with an awesome sunburst, flickering the shades all throughout the orange spectrum ๐.

Than you, I agree ๐๐
I like to remove all the contents from the box first, followed by a quick look at the paperwork and guarantee card etc even before removing the watch from the inner box ๐
She's a real beauty! I love that colorway!
Enjoy that watch!
Cheers!
Definitely the stand out piece among the 3 variants. Congrats
Thanks for all the great comments you lovely people ๐ .
I'll enjoy wearing it to work tonight, and I'll see what reactions there are amongst the normally oblivious non-watch geeks ๐ค
Fantastic looking watch, and the bezel really adds to it, great choice and well worth the wait.
I'm very upset that you bought the same watch as me. Surely there are rules about this? ๐
In all seriousness, it will become a favourite. It gets attention without being tacky / gaudy. It looks like it costs more than it does, and the GMT add-on is a neat complication whether you need it or not.
I'm debating about finding a fun silicone strap to throw on mine but the jubilee is solid too.
Congrats! Thatโs a great GMT

I treated myself to a genuine Prospex blue Save the Ocean ๐ strap to try along with it.
I'm hoping the dark blue compliments the bright orange ๐.
Do you think I should have stuck to a standard black strap to match the bezel??
Iโm personally not a big fan of the orange, but Iโm sure its an acquired taste. I did, however, get the black dial variant and I absolutely love it. Itโs a great and well built watch and probably the best affordable GMT you can buy at this sub $500 price point.

Blue and orange is a wicked combination... Whether it'll work with that watch remains to be seen due to the black gmt hand, the black tones on the bezel. That said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you gotta go with your gut. Please post a pic when you swap the strap out.
I was thinking of a grey silicone strap, as it's neutral (like the stainless bracelet) or perhaps a two-tone black w/ orange accents (but I'd be annoyed if the orange didn't match the dial). I do not want an all-orange strap because that might be TOO MUCH orange!
I saw this orange GMT the other day out in the wild, too bad i didnt wear mine the same day
