Time to share some more details about my GMT project! Part 2

It has been about a month since my first post and I wanted to thank you for all the extremely positive and supportive comments, You have given me a huge boost with many really interesting tips! Thanks!

In this Part 2, I want to share with you and reveal the (almost) final result, some design improvements and the progress of the prototype.

Of course, I am always looking for suggestions and advice!

So, Let's get started!💪

Case:

As you can see from the photo, the prototype has arrived, yay! touching it and trying it on my wrist has a whole different effect.

I have yet to put black ink on the GMT engraved numbers, but I like it so much!

Hands:

Thanks to your feedback, I spent a few more hours working on the design of the hands and I must say that I really like the result! The hands are much more in line with the overall design and the GMT is more visible, thanks also to the different type of finish. It will be white!

The lume used will be BWG9 Superluminova, the same one that will be used in the hour markers.

Dial:

For the prototype, I was thinking of a black dial with a sunburst finish, I really like the effect of this finish, it creates very interesting light reflections.

I did not want to add any other details. It has to do its job, be clear, legible and with high color contrast.

Here are the next steps:

  • Waiting for the bezel prototype

  • Finalize the design of the backcase

  • Working on strap design and material

...and a lot of other things

If you are interested in this project, follow me! I would like to post regularly (every 1/2 month) to share this journey with you.

You are all very knowledgeable and there is always something to learn!

Thank you all!

Patrick

Really smooth tbh, the only problem is quantity. You can hardly find a manufacturer that can make 1 sample. That is why I have relied on manufactures that use CNCs for various industries and customers.

Then you just have to provide the technical drawings, tolerances and finishes!
