What's your take on Rebellion watches?

Rebellion Timepieces. It's not a brand we hear alot about. Actually, at all. Their timepieces look out of this world. They may not be everyone's cup of tea.

The Wraith that seems to have been discontinued was my favorite model. Still, I can't afford any of their timepieces. Even on the pre-owned market they are nowhere to be found.

Some models have what seems to be "in house" movements. Which they claim is proprietary. Others like the Wraith had ETA movements. Now they just say "Swiss Made Automatic Movement" when it's not "in house". I feel like they are turning into a rip off for the price. Especially when "in house" is always in quotations.

Has anyone ever heard of them? What's your opinion of them?

For me it's not so much the confidence, but at 28,000 to 59,000 CHF these watches are not lacking competition.

They look like something you’d wear as you hack the Gibson.

They are very Motorsport inspired. They have their own race team in WEC which is how I became aware of them. The timepieces are definitely interesting, striking and impressive but they are not pretty pieces. Think Richard Mile turned to 11 ?🤷 The Magnum had the world's smallest chain (back in 2013) and a pricetag to make a grown man cry.

Have come across these. Always thought it was a horrible brand name, but they make interesting looking pieces and one has to appreciate the mechanics, though they are a bit garish and unwearable. The aftermarket is absolutely brutal on them. What I find interesting is the fact they stay in business with relatively no sales and a bunch of sponsorships where they seemingly give more of them away than they sell. The owner runs another company and seems to run a number of motor sports endeavors and I have no idea how they make the money work, but good on them for somehow making it work.

Further interesting is the fact the owner, Alexandre Pesci, entered a Draker this year and was disqualified because he did not wear the only watch approved for the race…The sponsor brand Rebellion. I repeat, he was wearing another brand. That is a special kind of dumb. I am not saying anything is shady with this company, but I would not touch one for $1,000 never mind what they want to sell them for.

Good god you'd be better of buying a Rolex Daytona on the grey market than buying one of these. I imagine the depreciation would be catastrophic........
