I caved.
I couldn't resist anymore. All this French fry discussion made me crave some. Thanks to @biglove for believing in me. Now that I have regained all the calories I had lost today, I feel complete again.
Since this is a watch forum, here's another picture of my step tracker after my afternoon hike.

As for that old E36 M3…miss her but she had to go. I thought it would my ‘forever’ last stick shift analog car but then life smacked me in face (i.e. kids and a mortgage!) and had to sell it on Bring-a-trailer. Got some good pics with kids before she went to a new home

I know the feeling. I had to let go of my beloved E46 M3 a few years ago for pretty much the same reasons as you. I miss it. I couldn't keep every toy so I made the decision that the M was moving on. I kept my Miata.
I don't regret keep the little Miata over the M. But I miss it.
Maybe some day we'll be able to get back behind the wheel of one!

Funny you should say that. On the way to get the said fries in the picture above, we drove past an E92 M3. I told my Missus that if I were to get another M3 it would be that one. I don't want another 46. I'm also kinda craving a supercharged (maybe turbo🤷) ND Miata with nasty coilovers and the fattest tires one can fit before having to cut out the fenders. We'll see when time comes what I decide to do.
