Best watch for around 1000 dollars?

Have been collecting and going down the rabbit hole of watch collecting the last few months and now want to spend a little more on watches. The hard thing is that I want the caliber, the dial and the whole look of the watch to be the best for that price range. Any suggestions?

Buy used, you will get much more for your money.

My suggestion is the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander. I have the original model with the printed name, but they have since updated it to have the applied logo instead.

It's not the flashiest looking watch at the price, but the finishing is top notch. I haven't handled or seen pictures of anything at it's price that compares.

Buy what inspires you first. For a thousand dollars there is a ton to choose from. Look for good movements and reviews. Measure your wrist and find the size that will make you keep wanting to wear it.

Tissot heritage 1938 line, good looking dials with cosc sertification, hamilton Murph, seiko alpinist or sharp edge

My two favorites at that price point are the Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition and the Doxa Sub 200T.

This is where microbrands (proven microbrands) come in. There's a lot of great sub $1000 watch from Seiko, Hamilton, etc. But when you're looking for high-end looking dials, finishing and design for under a $1k, brands like Christopher Ward, Farrer, Straum, and a few others are your best bet. Some sell out quickly because they are produced in small batches and need time time rebuild their inventory.

You’ll find Lorier, Traska and Serica well below $1000, maybe even a few used Monta at $1000

You need to provide a bit more info. What do you like? Divers, dress, sports? Are you looking for a complication? Chronograph, GMT?

Fully agree!

Then again, Mido or Squale also have very solid offerings on or just under the 1k mark. I’d also look at Farer 👍🏻

It depends. If integrated bracelet, then it’s the Maen Manhattan. Military is the Hamilton Khaki. Chronograph is the Seiko Speedtimer “Seitona”. Dress look at vintage Omega. GMT is the Traska Venturer. Diver is the Lorier Neptune. Funky is the Brew Metric. Many of these are well below 1K, so the change will pay for the dinner or beer.

Of course, these are my personal choices. Taste is personal

I'm with Lauren on the Doxa. Great watch for 995usd and lots of color options!

For this watch I am open to every category, just a good value for money watch

I'm in a similar spot and just pulled the trigger on a Christopher Ward C63 Celest. The aventurine dial plus outstanding specs overall did it for me. I did a lot of looking, there are lots of brands with great watches in that price range. Good luck in your decision! 👍
