Here we go … 1st post

I’ve been on the sidelines enjoying the discussions for a few months and appreciate the the various perspectives across all budgets. I am hoping to continue my journey and fill the last spot in this box … and then filter out at least one other. I welcome input.

A couple of characteristics I am looking for would be: an analog dial, water resistance for swimming, a screw down crown, and within a $750 budget. I know that may best describe a field watch, however, I am looking for something a bit more office oriented.

Thank you.

Welcome to WC, glad you decided to speak up. I don’t have any ideas off the top of my head, but I’ll give it some thought. And I suspect you’re about to get a ton of recommendations, this place is great for that. Cheers.

Dude! No joke, I love the Kenneth Cole Reaction watch! As soon as I saw this post, my eyes immediately honed in on that watch, and I knew without question that it was a Kenneth Cole!

Over the decades, I have purchased something like 20+ Kenneth Cole watches from Costco. They were absolutely a formative part of my life throughout my twenties and thirties.

All of us watch nerds make fun of fashion watches, but I think they're awesome. I mean, what does it say that Kenneth Cole was able to create its own design aesthetic such that at a glance one would know immediately that that is a Kenneth Cole watch, right?

My recommendation:

Under 500 Glycine Combat Sub

A couple of the fashion watches watches were gifts and may get past along but the Kenneth Cole will stay. A lot of good memories tied to it. Thanks for the comments.

Good recommendation … it certainly could be my first Swiss Made option. I like the two-tone blue and sapphire elements. Thanks for your time.

That's quite a broad set of parameters. Without knowing what are your preferences or what you have in mind when thinking about an office you are going to get a lot of recommendations that will be irrelevant to you.

For example, are there any colors or dial styles that you like, do you prefer metal bracelets to leather straps, is a day or day/date complication something you want?

Welcome!

I’d say take your time filling that last spot and see all the various options out there

Lots of micros tick that field box and with the right colorway its office ready. For me field is a very loose definition and just needs lume and decent WR. Farer, Boldr, Timex James Brand, Formex field, … a million options await you 😃

First thing that popper into my mind was the Longines Conquest 39mm with 300m of water resistance. The crown guard isn't the most formal and it's quite sharp from what I've read and heard but it's shiny enough to be more dressy for the office and works quite well as an everyday sporty watch.

Those are fair points. I was not sure if my limited budget would have narrowed the options. I can add that seeing the watch be automatic/mechanical with Arabic numbers standing out from a warm toned dial (pearl to beige) and a bracelet are desirable. Date would be good, although the day is not needed. Enjoy your day.

Patience has been called a virtue. I’ll try to apply your advice. Thanks.

Beautiful watch … I see it is also available with a white and blue dial. It may be an option with some disciplined saving. Thank you.

Welcome 🤗

I'm not great at suggesting watches to others, but I wanted to say I very much like your collection!

The one on top the top row, second from left, TV dial. That one is COOL.

I'd second the Glycine option.

Thank you. That is a Diesel DZ1116 Barrel Watch. It took a little while to get used to its width, but it is very comfortable and much more simple than what they produce today.
