Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I started getting into watch collecting after I got my first Mechanical watch the Orient Bambino v2 Champagne Dial. It was a gifted to me from my S.O. as the watch that I could wear on a formal event then the rest is just history.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I owned a few watches growing up but I remember having an F-91w Casio. My father would also gift us watches whenever he gets a home for vacation as an OFW.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have always been interested in owning pilot or vintage formal watches. I just like the feel and how it looks great on my wrist that is why when I got my Orient Bambino V2 as a gift, it sort of become a gateway for me to get into watch collecting.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy whatever makes you feel good and as long as its within your budget. You can also base it on your daily wear if you are only buying a single watch but that's what collecting watches is. It gives you a set of watches you could enjoy and wear on any occasion.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I have taken interest lately on Microbrand Watches. I like the idea of having unique watch designs or heritages and having a diverse collection of watches of different brands. Of course, there is still the idea of wanting to own a known and expensive brand but that may take a while.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Currently my grail is My Bambino because I have always been wanting to own one due to its vintage design. It feels like I'm traveling back in time where watches are still considered as a standard accessory or a tool for every man.
