I’m gonna need more than that before I bother to watch the video.

I wouldn't have watched it, either. However, I'm familiar with that story, and it is not complete without noting that the current brand is a restart of the previous "Meccaniche Veneziane".

The story IS CRAZY

Is that click on the video so important that it’s not worth saying here? Give me a hint, a clue, a nudge. Otherwise this is all just clickbait that I’ve been trained to ignore.

Is that unusual to sell "old" parts as new? Two things come to mind right away.

Omega back in the 90s changed the 186x movements in the speedmaster from 17 to 18 jewels. But they must have had loads of left over bridges still engraved "17 jewels" from way back and kept selling updated 18 jewel movements with old, and incorrectly engraved, bridges. Frankenwatches straight from the factory 😉

20y ago Rolex still used serial numbers by which you could date a watch. On the metal bands it was even accurate to the month. I have seen bucketloads of watches stamped with papers that a a few years "younger" than the watch. Whether it sat in the window or was withheld by Rolex for a while, hard to say. I don't mind honestly and I have experience with buying such stuff. I have bought a NOS watch from around 2008 (likely never sold after the big crash and was pushed around between dealers) and wanted it serviced to make sure it's ready for the next decade. I was called by the Service Centre who advised me to leave it alone and just have it regulated a bit. Runs now at +10 seconds a month. Old movements are no trouble, modern lubricants and all.

That said, I'll watch the video later when I walk home.

I've had a new watch break shortly after receiving it. I had to pay shipping back to Japan. I didn't make a video complaining about it. That's the nature of online sales. It seems that that is the only current complaint against the company.

The rest of the video seems to be a giant advertisement for your own online watch store. Now the click bait and insistence on watching the video makes more sense.
