Fear of getting stiffed with fakes makes the security of buying from my favorite AD well worth the little extra. Knowing there’s people like Farrer (AKA Timepiece Gentleman) as well as his good buddies Roman Sharf, Paul Thorpe, etc. makes paying the little extra at my AD money well spent. The shadiness of having to deal with these ‘characters’, and not being able to just buy from an AD kept me away from Rolex. I don’t know this guy. But he’s far from the first questionable ‘character’ in the grey market. I’ll happily stick with the piece of mind my AD gives me.

Yip. I was truly interested in a Rolex. But they just discontinued it, before I even had a chance to see it in real life. So, because of the ‘intrigues’ of trying to buy a Rolex the only source was these shady, scummy grey market types. I have to think that most Rolex buyers are buying from people like Anthony, and the like. I’ll never understand that, or do so. I think, upon reflection, that I’m just not a Rolex guy.
