Postman's Watch

My mail carrier started to wonder why he's always delivering watches, parts, tools, and accessories. ๐Ÿ˜‚ He finally asked, and I told him I like to tinker around with them. He then asked if I could look at a watch his mom gave him that had some sentimental value. He figured it just needed a battery, but he didn't have any screwdrivers small enough.

Not really my cup of tea, but I understand the sentimental part. I have watches from my childhood that I will never let go of, even though I don't wear them. A battery swap, a little debris removal from under the crystal, a lot of DNA removal all over, a new keeper on the strap, and some grease on the gaskets... I think we're good to go now.

Anybody else have a Prague watch, or ever heard of them? And no, I didn't lose his seconds hand. It has a Hattori 2-hand movement, if you're wondering. ๐Ÿ˜

That looks amazingly comfortable.

It is comfortable, like a cuff, even with its effective LtL of 54mm. Actual LtL is over 58mm. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Like I said, not really my thing.

No doubt! Wouldn't be a good one to wear on a workday.

Wow, that is nice!

Hubby started out self tinkering... pretty soon our friends started dropping off things that needed a battery or were overwound. It's a slippery slope. The first time a Breitling showed up I was sweatng bullets until he successfully handed it back to his pal.

I bet! I think I would just have to direct them to a watchmaker from the start, especially if it was something I couldn't afford to replace. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I probably owed him one after the amount of milk-bones he has given my dog. When she hears his truck coming down the street, she goes berserk. Once he pulls in front of the house, she jumps up in the truck with him. ๐Ÿ˜‚ He's a good sport about it, and he has dogs as well, so he doesn't seem to mind.

One of the guys on the trash truck loves our dogs. He gets out and plays with them all the time and brings them treats.

It was no big deal. Like I told Steve, I owed him one (or at least my dog did ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Fantastic story, Lawrence and I think the watch looks pretty cool. I imagine you are going to make a lot of new 'friends' from the postal depot now ๐Ÿคฃ
