I don’t pick based on occasion but rather remove options based on what I’m doing. Wrenching/working? Something that won’t get ruined like a Casio or a sapphire crystal. Going to get wet? No leather straps. usually narrows it down to 4 or 5 options lol
In the privacy of my own home and when I’m returning a watch to someone and want to have one to wear after it’s delivered, yes. Other than that I am not brave enough lol.
Vintage is probably one of the most interesting categories of watches out there, however it is quite scary. I like vintage Seikos a lot simply because there’s a bunch of the movements left to get donors in case something happens. Hell, I ended up with 2 working copies of the same watch scrambled together from several donors. scaling that up to an Omega or Longines however may be a different story lmao😂
