I must have missed that first post. My god, that watch really is hideous. I’ve still got the one I got back into watches with in a box somewhere, and it’s a real POS too. I’ll see if I can dig it out.

That Islander is dope, though.

My first watch was probably a Timex from the early 60's. Something along these lines.

Most recent is this RZE Fortitude

Fantastic choices, can see how your style has changed. The rze has an awesome dial. The texture and colour are brilliant

No one should ever have heard about the first one, but it’s out there now…haunting our nightmares.

Not my very first watch, but in a sideways manner it’s the one that got me back into watches—mostly because it was such a pile of junk. I bought it after not buying watches for a while and not really doing any research first. See that bezel? Purely decorative, that one is. Since buying better watches, the poor quality of the case metal is also painfully clear. It also died after owning it for less than 2 years. I’m almost ashamed at how much I spent for it. It did teach me several lessons, though. I realized I needed to be more mindful of my purchases and actually do some research. And in doing that I ended up getting more into watches and learning a lot more about them. So in that way it wasn’t really a loss. It was still a couple of years after trashing it before I got into watches in earnest, but that one certainly stood as a lasting lesson when I did.

Second pic is my newest purchase, and it’s the polar opposite of the first in every way.

I see but like you said it's thought you a valuable lesson and you have learnt something from it. Btw that zodiac is stunning. Love the skin diver style. Congratulations on landing that gem.

Thanks! I really do love that watch. And yes, that’s why I kept that other one long after it had loosed its mortal coil. It’s a reminder to be smarter when it comes to making purchases, and for that reason I don’t regret buying it.

Very first was the Seiko SNK809. Most recent was the Tudor BB58.
