Here is my really opinion about this watch.
Over priced? : yes
An original omega speedy? : not even close
Well built? : nope
Able to wear as an every day watch?: negatory
Feels like a cheap toy?: Yup
And you know what else? I still wanted it damn it!
Why is that you ask?
One Part, thrill of the hunt
Other part, big believer in getting a homage of the real thing even if it copies the DNA of the original minus the company logo.
A homage watch stimulates and motivates me to own the real speed master one day. Also it will double as a decoy when I’m really in the mood wear the real thing but it isn’t the appropriate settings to do so.
All in all this is still a fun watch to wear occasionally. It puts a smile on my face and that’s all that matters!

It’s been widely reported they are selling significantly more Speedmasters as a result of the range. Especially when there were fools paying £1500 for them during the initial period at launch. Commercially it’s been a massive success & swatch are on record as saying they would consider doing something of this nature again. Would it work again without the Insta Crypto Bro hype bubble around watches? Personally I doubt it.

Omega actually had one of the smallest year over year increases in turnover between 2021 and 2022 among major Swiss brands. In other words, their competitors increased sales much greater than Omega.
If there was an increase in Speedy sales, it wasn’t enough to keep the brand from falling behind it’s competition.

I do like it. But it is crap. Dome scratched by its own cardboard box. What it does help with, however, is decide whether I ever want to buy a serious chrono like the speedy. I love the look. But would I be happy wearing a watch with what is for me such a busy dial?

Half the price and better in every way possible.
Titanium, sapphire, radio, solar, LED light, and loaded with timers and alarms etc.
Other cool features include:
Not getting destroyed by its own box.
Buttons you can press without them crumbling at your fingertips.
No paint that stains your arm.
You can look at it safely without it exploding into dust.
But it's not a plastic homage of an Omega. And no Omega on the dial.
Nothing wrong with that in my book brother. Collect them all like Pokémon.

it's a Phylida Speedmaster as it comes with the manual wind ST19 movement. I have been giving the Pagani a good long look but I have my fingers crossed that they might bring out an anodised aluminium version in the same colours as the Swatch series. I also found a Tintin version too.
