A Wooden Case Watch?!

Have you ever considered wearing a watch with a wooden case?

Wooden case watches are crafted from various types of wood, each with its own distinct character and grain pattern. From rich mahogany to light bamboo, the variety of wood choices allows you to pick a watch that aligns with your style and taste.

I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into each timepiece

I decided in adding a wooden case watch to my collection for a refreshing and earthy twist to my collection and my wife happily obliged this watch.

It's not my thing. Most of the wood case watches are given as gifts. I think they are priceless to their owners . I totally get it

Nope.

I considered getting one in Hawaii as every jewelry store seemed to have one in window displays. I had a pair of wooden sunglasses that I left in a hot car and it splintered from the heat. Can’t have that happen to a watch.

I love wood as a material. It’s beautiful, and wonderful in many ways. That said, wood just isn’t a good choice for a watch case. No water resistance and bad impact resistance, especially when considering that the thinner it is the more prone to breaking with the grain. So, no, not a good idea for wrist watches.

Very true. I honestly just baby the crap out of this. I barely ever wear it but I still like having it in the collection none the less. On a special occasion that I wont be out on the town all day I’ll put it on for fun. And if it breaks 🤷🏾‍♂️

I like the idea. But I worry enough about the water resistance and dings on watches made of sturdier stuff as it is.

If I saw a fairly waterproof, wooden, Solar, for a cheapest price — or if someone close to me got me one — I would likely like it (or buy it, in the first case, if I liked it’s looks) and sometimes wear it. I mean… you can carve your own case and strap repairs right?

I’ve seen some lovely ones; however, they tend to be too large to be practical for me.

I have one! I don't wear it but I should. It's the whole reading of the time that's throwing me off a little.

It's not crazy complicated. But it feels like you're re-learning how to walk.

You do?! That’s awesome!! Very cool. Thank yoy for sharing. How have you been wearing yours? Day to day? Only in special occasions?!

Do tell

Thanks for your reply🍻

I don't wear it. Time telling on the dial isn't as obvious as a regular watch. By the time I manage to get the correct time, 5 minutes have passed already.

I keep telling myself that I need to wear it just because. But it doesn't happen. I have to charge it with a USB on a computer.
