Max’s latest video

@WatchCrunch

Great video! But I absolutely, 100%, completely, and totally disagree with you!!!

If both the Rolex Daytona and the Zenith Chronomaster Sport were available at exactly the same price, I’d take the Zenith 8 days a week over the Daytona.

Given that a new Daytona goes for $40k, I’d take it, sell it, get myself the Chronomaster Sport, and use the leftover cash to get a Hyundai Veloster N. And maybe some Cheetos on top of that. :)

There's room to disagree 😉. My point is, if they were both offered to me at retail, I'd be dumb not to buy the Rolex. Even if as you said to sell and pocket the change. Plus I love the fit of the Daytona, it's the best modern Rolex sports watch in terms of proportions. But A LOT to love about the Zenith, I can see plenty of people swinging the other way. It's good that we don't all have the same taste 👍

Here's the video BTW: https://youtu.be/0HWm7UlqnRE

I'm triggered!  I represent that statement. :)

Hey @Max in this video you mentioned Cascadia Straps.  I went to the site--they look nice, and as you say prices are good value.  However can you please ask them to list the length of each strap piece and the taper on every product page.  Really a leap of faith to buy a strap when you don't know the length or the taper (if any)...even at these more favorable prices.  Thanks!!  #CascadiaStraps

I'm with you on the Daytona fit/size Max, the Zenith is a better watch and I love the 10th of a second functionality - I just wish Zenith had fully copied the Daytona sizing and to hell with it.

Sooner or later a major manufacturer will, and I'll be on their doorstep asking for a discount off retail.

I would worry about the Rolex bubble bursting like a an over inflated crypto. I only put big bucks into London property and blue chip stocks.

Loving the work Max,

Price notwithstanding, functionality is often a deal maker or deal breaker and a massive criteria for one watch better subjectively better than another.

I saved up for a Daytona (steel bezel) and found that the idea of owning one was better than actually owning it. Why: the screw down pushers. Why does that matter: I have gorilla hands and I can't unscrew the pushers while it is on my wrist.

Fast forward, I owned Zenith El Primero and while, yes, I sold it, I loved being able to use the pushers as intended

So in this personal example, the El Primero was "better" than the Daytona.

$30k question: you mention selling the Zenith but do you still have the Rolex notwithstanding the issue you have with the screw down pushers? :)

that  daytona is gone....however, I did give screwdown pushers another chance with the Tudor Heritage Chrono....man, such a cool watch but, again, same issue and same result

This is 100% a "me" issue unfortunately, lol

Or if you’re a coffee snob who uses a ridiculous siphon to make your morning brew (guilty) you use a Chronograph to time that instead of the 90 other available timers within a five foot radius 😁😁😁

..and maybe some Cheetos on top of that 😂 Great 😂
