Which Chronograph?

As spring approaches here in New Jersey, I am reminded that driving season is near! I’m into mostly vintage cars. But I also am not likely to acquire a Chronograph watch to wear during my drives until next year at the earliest. I came across a micro brand that makes some pretty neat looking watches. So I’m thinking about picking up one of their chronographs to add to my collection until I can acquire a Speedy. They offer some light customization to the dial, hands, case, strap, and so forth. These are the two watches I came up with, and I need some opinions to make a decision. Both watches come to about $310. And I love the look of the brown leather rally strap. So those are constants. Both watches also have the same quartz movements. I also chose the same hands for both. So really it’s a decision between a panda dialed watch with a smooth, classic bezel, or a fo-tropical dialed sport chronograph with a tachymeter bezel. Which would you choose?

I've always been a fan of pandas and panda dials. I also find them generally easier to read at a glance. A tach is cool, but not a deal breaker for me since I'd rarely ever use one, and definitely not while driving since that is what the speedometer is for 😀

Both are great, and I'm sure you'll be happy with either one.

I love Pandas but that one’s a little plain for me. I think the black dial is more interesting on this occasion and more inspired by racing heritage with the tachymeter so it gets my vote.

Hand visibility = black dial.
