New Strap

Yesterday I posted a quartz Omega De Ville that I was given by a friend for helping him and his wife obtain a home. Unfortunately the original Omega strap was in rough shape, so I was looking for a new strap.

I ended up choosing a brown suede strap. Though the original black crocodile strap was more suitable for this dressier piece, I thought that suede would dress the watch down a bit. Because I don’t wear suits or attend formal events often, and I already have a couple dress watches for such events, I thought that adding a more casual strap would cause me to wear this piece more than I otherwise would with black crocodile.

I went with this strap from AnalogShift. It’s now the second strap I’ve purchased from them (the first being on my Omega Seamaster 300 GMT), and I’m quite happy with how well made and comfortable they are. I also was able to swap the original Omega buckle onto it as well.

I’m looking forward to more wrist time with this new piece.

Edit: after wearing this watch for the day, it looks like the timing is way off. I’ll be bringing it to my local watchmaker to see if it can be serviced.

Got to love a suede strap. 😊

Perfect choice, Mike! And like @Eliminator Trev said, got to love suede.

Try a demag on the Omega first, see if that helps.

Suede is classic and casual. It looks good. I've used suede straps on vintage Datejusts and it looks quite lovely.
