I’ve Done It Again
Here we are again… Kevin O’Leary claims that you aren’t a collector of a brand until you own 3 pieces by them.
I recently shared my unintended 3-watch Casio collection. Well, I’m finding myself with 3 Fossil watches, another make that I never saw myself becoming a collector of.
When I was in middle school, my grandmother bought me a Fossil for Christmas. I had seen it in Macy’s and at $65 it was probably more expensive than all of the Timex watches that my grandfather owned. It was a sporty watch on a stainless bracelet, and the dial could change between a blue and green color. I wore that watch every day for a couple years, until one day it must have fallen out of my pocket in a hockey locker room after a game. It was a huge bummer, as though I owned an Armitron previously, this Fossil was technically my first nice watch. Well I’ve looked on eBay every so often, and recently came across the same watch that my grandmother bought me for $25, and I had to buy it.
I also recently purchased the special edition Harry Potter automatic watch that Fossil released. I’ve been a HP fan since 2000 when I was in 4th grade, so when I found out there was a Potter watch I naturally had to have one.
The last Fossil pictured belonged to my grandfather. It was the nicest watch he owned, and he wore it every day for nearly 4 years before he passed in 2020. It’s a Fossil, and yet it’s one of my most prized watches.
So there you have it. I’m now an unintentional collector of Fossil watches. I don’t foresee myself buying anymore, but at this point I suppose anything can happen.

Nice. I've got 3 Fossils myself, one going back to 2004. May get another in the future depending if I like the style, but ATM been looking at other brands too.
Kev also only wears watches on red straps,and had to find out about seiko off Teddy he's not a collector 😂🤣he's just rich,wouldn't take advice off him,he will put you in a shark tank.

Oh I don’t take advice from him at all. Just thought it was funny that based on his measure for being a collector of a certain brand, I am now a collector of two brands that I didn’t intend to be a collector of. This watch thing is a hell of a journey… also, to be fair, Kevin believes that at 3 watches you become a collector, but at 3 watches of the same brand you become a collector of that brand. That doesn’t really seem unreasonable to me.
Also I don’t think he had to find out about Seiko from Teddy. He already had Grand Seiko so I’m sure he knew about Seiko. I just don’t think he considered Seiko because they are cheap. I think Teddy just helped him put snobbery aside and realize that you can get great watches for under 5 grand.

Yeah that’s a little over the top. Though I guess if you have that much money a simple dog or cat could get boring. I’d probably have a lion myself 😂

I'm OK with my watches 🙄😂I wipe them don't have to clean up after them though 👌
