I was telling @DH_NYC that I was thinking about coming up for this. Unfortunately, I found out thatโs the same week my folks are coming down to visit.
Oh, well. Maybe next year. Hope you all have a great time!

I'll be in Connecticut for the week visiting family & planned on being at the Wind Up show for that Saturday. I just need to convince the wife to spend the evening as well. Food & drinks are usually a good form of persuasion.
There are a few, but not that Iโd recommend between grand central and 18th street. If youโre down to go further downtown, Johnโs of bleecker, grand street pizza all good.
@DH_NYC and @AllTheWatches the best pizza isn't in Manhattan. But there is good pizza. For the best you go to the Bronx or Jersey.
If I were gonna have one quick bite of food in NYC I'd go to Pomme Frittes for Belgian fries or poutine and a drink.
that said, i'm sure you'll find a pizza joint to your liking, just sharing my fave in case you have time.
Circling back! Looking forward to seeing folks this weekend. Couple of items for those interested:
Friday night: Staying in the Chelsea area, but likely grabbing pizza in the Garmin District that night if anyone feels like meeting up. Happy to create a separate chat/message to coordinate with anyone interested.
Saturday:
Likely in and out of Windup most of the day, attending panels, etc.
There is an hour between the end of Windup and this meet-up. For those looking for something to do and eat beforehand, "Mad For Chicken" is close to the venue and only a couple doors down from Coopers and Craft. Excellent Korean chicken, dumplings, etc. Apparently, it is a chain (did not know that the first time I visited), but the food is reasonably priced, comes out quickly, and is quite tasty. Also, hard to beat location and makes for a good spot to kill time.

True story, my efforts to juggle a court appearance (as a witness) resulted in my being served a subpoena and bars out of state travel. I've been gaveled! ๐ฌ I did however negotiate permission for the Seattle meetup next week so I hope to see some of you there.

Totally understandable, but there is some delicious pizza in the area and I am sticking to places within about a mile of where I am staying for ease.
damn i've gone and made myself hungry.
I was thinking the same seeing a pic of your fries. ๐๐
In NYC this weekend but have plans on Saturday evening just blocks away. Scheming on how to do both... I predict sitcom hijinks ensuing!
