Watches and their intended purpose

I love the thought of using a watch for its intended purpose like adventurous exploring with an explorer, taking your Seamaster diver diving and your IWC Pilots watch on the plane. As much as I like it I also know that the reality is different, almost no one takes their diver diving and the Rolex explorer is more often than not used as a “dress” watch.

That is perfectly fine by me and I also don’t go exploring or diving but the original thought is still cool to think about.

But until I can afford any of those watches above I will use my brew and drink Coffee. That is perfectly enough for me 👌🏼

Do you have a watch you use like that?

Cheers ☕️

I use all of my watches for their intended purpose to the degree I am capable (which is far exceeded by the watch itself).

I keep seeing these Brew-Metrics and I REALLY need to get my hands on one!

Time to start reading/watching reviews.

Most of my watches are engineered way above my usage. That is no problem for me. However, occasionally I have had my divers in the pool.

I had a Rolex no date submariner when I was a serving Royal Marine Commando in the 80s/90s and it was fully utilised as the tool watch/diver it was meant to be, hardly took it off for 5 years and only then because I absolutely destroyed it 💥 Replaced with an OG titanium ceramic Seiko Tuna pro-diver which was absolutely bombproof, literally.
