Established vs. Micro

I'm looking for a Black Bay 39 alternative and since Christopher Wards C63 has that faux patina on their indices which i don't like my eyes are currently looking at either the good old DressKX and the Charlie Concordia!

The Seiko has a rubbish bracelet, mineral crystal and a 4R movement for ~300€.

The Charlie Concordia has a good bracelet, 300m WR, sapphire crystal and a Seiko VK31 quartz.

The quartz movement sounds boring but it's actually quite interesting since it has a sweeping second besides the usual quartz benefits, grab and go essentially.

Price of the Charlie Concordia is ~345€.

What would you choose?

And if you know other alrernatives, let me know!

I’d say go with the Seiko. The Concordia’s 12 indice bothers me since it has no differentiation. My two cents.

I’d go for the Seiko as well. I understand why you’d consider the Charlie Concordia, but it’s have to be about £80 cheaper for me to put it in contention. Ultimately, buy what you prefer.

I’m confused. I have a C63 and it doesn’t have fauxtina anywhere on it. And, the product page on the CW website describes the lume as “SLN X1 BL C1.” How is that fauxtina?

Get the Concordia if you like being a bit different or the Seiko if having a day/date window is a must. Both are fine and should make you happy.

·

Buy whatever you want

As long you're not breaking the bank over it

I guess our eyes see colors differently. I have the white dial version and if anything, the indices look slightly blue (from the lume tint) to me compared to the whiteness of the dial. Some other options you may want to consider are the Mido Multifort (there's a 38.5 mm version that can be a little difficult to find), Islander Brookville, or Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic.

oh yes really like the super antarctic!

I have the Seiko 5 and love it, its a solid durable work horse.

I don't have any scratches on the glass after 2 years of wear.

·

I'd add Lorier Falcon, unless it's specifically the round indexes that catch your eyes https://www.lorierwatches.com/products/falcon-siii

I have the grey version 5 dress kx which is a great watch so I'm biased!
